Mentors: Help for Moms of Babies and Tots

Mommy Head —  February 8, 2011

My name is Tara and I'm a Frontline Mom.

These two beautiful children are my very own. Lilibeth will be two in March and Ryan is seven months old. They are so much fun, and really, I can hardly imagine life without them.

You may find yourself asking, "How can you be a Frontline Mom when your children are so young?" That's an easy one.

Because I choose to be!

But how can we moms of babies and tots ensure that our kids make it in today's culture?

My suggestion for you today is, find godly mentors!

Titus 2:2-4 says "the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed."

You know the ones. The ladies who have forged a trail for us. They are the ones who are the voice of experience. They have been through it and they are offering to help us through our battles.

Where can you find such mentors? Try your pastor's wife. Or maybe it is your own mother or grandmother. There is also the priceless wisdom that can be found throughout the pages of this blog.

I can see the signs of the times. Everywhere you turn, sexuality is being sold to our kids. The billboards scream it. The music they listen to plays it. Even the clothes that you buy for little ones these days are "sexy". And I don't want my little ones to be just another casualty of the war.

We have been through a lot with our children. And we will go through a lot more. But it is the battles that we have fought that have made having them so much sweeter.
