A Five-Year-Old’s Question about Romance: Family Fun Friday & Link-Up

Josiah hopped up on the bed next to me as I was sitting in my rocking chair working on our new e-book.

He thoughtfully fingered our DVD resource called Hot Romance that was sitting next to my stack of work.

"Mom, when do I get to watch Hot Romance?" he inquisitively asked. "You know, I have been trying to figure out how babies get out of mamas’ tummies."

I looked up at him speechless. Good question, son. But how, at five, had he put all those concepts together, my protective mama’s mind wondered? Wow, that boy is smart!

And then I remembered the topic of the new e-book I was working on. How to equip our kids in a sex-saturated world. Maybe my timing was perfect? Maybe the Holy Spirit was getting my attention?

As I looked at that cute little innocent face, my heart melted.

Yes, son, I will take the time to teach you. And I immediately began digging for my trusted friend ......the book that I shared with his big brothers and sisters.

Are your kids asking you questions? Are you ready to answer?

Check back on FrontlineMoms.com for Lisa’s new e-book Straight Talk in a Sex-saturated Culture: A Quiz for Teens, Tweens and Parents.  It will be ready soon.

My sweet daughter Tara at Mommy Head Adventures is helping us with this.

So please link up your Family Fun blog post for all of us to see. Just make sure it’s family friendly, and fun.

When my children were very young and close together age wise, they knew that I was going to the hospital and that Dr. Walker would help us get our new baby.  I could have used your book, but that was 60 years ago!  Thank you for sharing at "Tell Me a Story."
