Archives For Mothers’ Day

Lisa and Mom Renshaw

Parents and grandparents have a remarkable, God-ordained power to influence our lives.

I am so grateful for my two godly grandmothers.  I hope you saw my post yesterday about my maternal grandmother Ging-gi.

Here is my second Mother's Day post in honor of Vonda Renshaw.

Tears are flowing here as I celebrate my heritage. Hope you enjoy....

A Proverbs 31 Woman: Mom’s Life as a Tapestry of Beauty

Our family's Christmas celebration was one of those bittersweet life experiences.  Sweet because of our Lord's presence and His awesome gift of life.  Bitter because my 97 year old paternal grandma whom I affectionately named "Mom" was promoted to her first Christmas in heaven just one week before our earthly festivities.  Click here to read more.

Lisa and Ginggi

It doesn't seem possible but we have been together on Frontline Moms and Dads now for 4 years!

I have written about a variety of topics over the years but in honor of Mothers’ Day this week I wanted to share 2 of our all time most popular posts.

They are about two different women who impacted my life tremendously: My two grandmothers.

Today, please meet Wanda Robinson....

Ging-gi: A Faithful Woman Serving a Faithful God

From my grandmother, I learned the true meaning of the word "grit."  She was tenacious.  Vigorous.  Passionate.  And some would say stubborn.  She never wanted to assume the limelight.  In fact, she hated when anyone would even attempt to give her any public recognition or praise. One look was all it took. Remember? You saw your baby’s face, and your heart swelled to the bursting point.  A cascade of fierce love and thrilling joy poured out to your precious little one.

God wants you to know that He is looking at you with the same amazing explosion of love that you felt when you first became a mom. You make His heart sing with joy.

He who is love has unleashed His love—His very essence—toward you.

Even if you’ve failed Him, God’s love for you is sure and unfailing. He bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

So as you celebrate Mothers’ Day, take a moment to look to the Lord and notice His love for you.  What kind of love is it?   It’s an extravagant, parental love like the love you discovered in your heart for your child.

Believe that His love is for you, and trust that it will never fail.
